Beyonce is a well known american singer, songwritter that is loved in the UK. She is aged 30 and been very successful. Most of her music she has relaed falls in the pop genre.
Genre Characteristics:
Beyonce is a well known pop singer. Throughout her pop video to ’Love on top’ there is a complete dance routine the whole way through, this video is very genre specific.
Relationship between lyrics and visuals:
In goodwins theory he said that a music video can either be illustrative, amplified or contradictive.
Beyonce sings ‘I can see the stars all the way from here’ as she sings this she moves her hands to suggest stars this is very vague illustration.
Relationship between music and visuls:
The music pace of the songfits with the visual dance routine beyonce is performing. When the music speeds up or slows down so does beyonces dance routine.
Reference to notion of look: During the music video it is sometimes shot as if your looking through a telescope or screens within screens. By using voyerism throughout it makes the audience feel as if their watching a proper performance and can connect easier.
Performance based: It's very clear to see beyonce has performed this music video as she has stuck to her dance routine throughout.

Pixie Lott 'All About Tonight Music' Video Analysis
Pixie lott is younf female singer aged 21, her first album was brought out in june 2009 and went straight to number one. Pixie brings out songs in the pop genre and is very successful.
Genre Characteristics:
During pixie's video she has stuck to the typical pop genre conventions. She has a complete girlies concept comnig across mixed with a dance routine. Pixie's dance routine appears sharp, elegant and fast paced, as an audience you would expect this from a pop artist.
Relationship between lyrics and visuals:
There is a distinct relationship between lyrics and visuals as they are amplified. when the chorus is sung you begin to see how the dance routine relates.
Relationship between music and visuals:
The video begins with a fast introduction and bright but slightly faded images of the star. This combination fits together as images fade to the music. By showing the artist straight away it also gives the audience an instant connection.
Reference to the notion of looking:
Throughout pixie lott;s video they show many differant shots of her legs. These images are shown as if the audience as looking at them. They have used her legs as a traditional sex object, to try and sell the artist and video as well.
Performance, narrative or concept based:
Pixie's video is perofrmance and narrative. Pixie performing side comes from her girlie dance routine, but narrative through the lyrics in the song.

Alexis Jordan 'Good Girl' Music Video Analysis
Genre Characteristics:
In a typical female pop music video you are expected to see a lot of dancing, an events going on and maybe some parody. Alexis Jordan has shown this throughout her video.She starts of dancing and she gets into the song her emotions are revealed.
Relationship between lyrics and visuals:Alexis Jordan is almost acting out some of the song for example when she sings the lyrics 'I like tight jeans, dark shades' she is shown walking in with tight jeans on and taking shades off. Another example is within the editing and cuts added to the video. Alexis sings 'When I walk the ground shakes(boom)' the editing has been done so the floor she is standing on vibrates. This is bringing the music video alive.

She doesn't tend to always look at the camera, by doing this it's giving the audience a chance to feel closer with the artist and make a connection. By doing different close up shots it can convey the emotions of the song and how the artist is feeling.

Inroduction.
Hi, My name is Katy and i will be continuing my media course next year to do A2 Media.
For my coursework this year i will be re-creating a music video.
I have an idea for my music video being a re-take of 'broken heels' by Alexandra Burke but in my own way. I have a lot of thinking and preparation to do in order to achieve the finale piece.
